Lions Club New Jersey Eyeglass Recycling Center

Allentown Lions Club members contribute at the Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center at Katzenbach. Eyeglasses at the center are processed by Lions Club members with the help of students from the Katzenbach and the Special Service School for the Mercer County Community. Prisoners from two local institutions are also utilized for eyeglasses processing. The center continually sponsors missions to Mexico and the Dominican Republic, organizing participation from optometrists and other medical professionals.

ALLENTOWN — Alice Wikoff, 84, can remember a time when the superintendent of schools rang the dismissal bell early so that the children could go ice skating before dark.
